In 1991 SEPOMEX announced a competition for the acquisition of new ATM distributing machines.
Although it participated, the German company Klüssendorf did not accept the basis of the bidding for the public contract, reason why finally was the Swiss company Frama, that in addition presented a better economic offer, who provided and installed the new equipment through a company of recent creation that represented it in Mexico.

FRAMA ISSUES

From June of 1992 several ATM distributing machines type FRAMA - Model FE 1610 were put into service in Mexico D.F.
The new distributors were installed in right booths, that also included information on the current postal tariffs and a double mailbox fort the shipments. The payment is possible only with coins and the user can obtain stamps or ATMs of any face value between 00.10 N$ and 99.90 N$ ; the change is also given back in form of ATMs.

In spite of the correct planning and installation of these new vending machines of stamps or distributors of ATMs in places of public access as the International Airport, tube stations, etc..., continued problems due to the lack of maintenance of the equipment throughout the years, as well as the little acceptance of this new system of franking on the part of the users, has caused who today many of the distributors are already out of service and it seems that its total disappearance will be in a future not very distant.
