Announcement of the World Stamp Exhibition Spain 2000 "Andalusian horses", the label issue show the poster of the Exhibition, work by J. Carrero.

The author was born in Granadilla ( Cáceres ) in 1953, he studied at Fine Arts School of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and at that of San Fernando in Madrid. A versatile artist, he had worked on scenery, illustrations for books, graphic and industrial design and painting. J. Carrero began with Impressionist works and for years he was devoted to search for a style of his own. At the moment, he paints Realism style pictures. Some of his paintings are kept at the Fine Arts Museums of Albacete, Santander and Badajoz, the Postal Museum in Madrid and the Fujit Museum in Tokyo.

Also in other ATM or label issues, and as a consequence of its large printings, during the impression are possible the tone variations, but we can't define it as a variety.
During 1998, 1999 and 2000 the Spanish Philatelic Service issued three series to promote the horses of La Cartuja-Hierro del Bocado herd. They come from the autochthonous breed which existed in Jerez de la Frontera at the end of the 15th century. The Carthusian monks reared and cared for them for three centuries, becoming one of the most famous and valuable herd of horses of the world. The three series are comprised of a 12 stamp sheetlet with horses as its main theme.
In the 1999 set ( november 3rd ), appears also on a stamp the poster from the World Stamp Exhibition Spain 2000.
