The
Europe-America
Postal Forum 2002 was celebrated from 6th to 8th May 2002, at
the Meliá Castilla Hotel, Madrid.
Under the motto "A meeting
point for the postal world", the Forum was designed as an open
and dynamic space where Post Office leaders can come together, on the different
basic topics, to discuss and compare the most important aspects on postal
world. |

The Forum was rounded
out with two exhibition rooms: One orientated to postal organizations and
enterprises, interested in finding solutions, products or services, and
a second one to a Philatelic exhibition.
One franking balance EPELSA
ET-RL/T number 0001 (printing variety 5 digits small) was installed
in the Exhibition issuing the ATM Postal Forum. Some ATMs
were printed without machine number.
Also a commemorative
postmark was used during the Exhibition ; it can be considered as a
First
Day of Issue, a great rarity in ATM collecting in Spain
!
This ATM issue had
a very reduced printing (only 200.000 adhesive labels) and it was used
only in franking balances in Philatelic Service (nr. 0761), Exhibition
room (nr. 0001) and in a closer Post Office for a few days ; all
them with 5 digits small printing variety. Some rolls appeared again
some months later in another Madrid post office and it was possible
to obtain rare ATMs with the printing variety 5 digits large.

From
April
10th until May 10th, 2002 was used a mechanical commemorative
cancellation also in Madrid. The design shows again the Postal
Forum 2002 logo. |

The sesions were organized by
the Ministerio de Fomento, with the special colaboration
of Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos S.A.
